The "Seven" Litter
On July 7th, 2000, Entwood Ursa Major delivered a litter of 7 puppies, 4 Boys & 3 Girls. Now, given Leslie's love of "theme" names for a litter, what other theme would apply to 7 puppies born on the 7th day of the seventh month to a dam and a sire, each of which was from a 7 puppy litter? Seven Samuari, Seven Stars, Count Seven, Seventh Son, Magnificant Seven, Seventh Heaven and Viva La Seven. The litter was co-bred with Cynthia Lastauckas of New Moon Borzoi and the sire was her CH New Moon Why Ask Why SC. Some of the Borzoi have "Entwood" names and some have "New Moon" names.
Besides "Sonny", CH New Moon Seven Stars ("Taurus") has finished his championship and Entwood Magnificent ("Maggi") is nearing theirs. But, the most significant item, in our opinion,is that the "puppies" are showing that slow maturing that, in our opinion, is one of the hallmarks of a long-lived line.
